‘Duke of Wellington’

Two more of our young men have fallen
Fighting In the service of the Crown
Two more proud Yorkshire 'Warriors'
For others their lives they have laid down

There was Corporal Liam Matthew Riley
He was a young man of only twenty one
He was born and came from Sheffield
And to his mother he was her loving son

Lance Corporal Graham Shaw fell with him
Graham’s age was just twenty seven years
From the northern town of Huddersfield
His family now for him are shedding tears

They were serving with the 3rd Battalion
Near a place called Malgir South of Kings Hill
On foot patrol when the I.E.D. exploded
Our two proud brave 'Warriors' did they kill

Now these two brave young Yorkshire men
Were brought home with love and pride
They will take their place in our history
As the ones who before them that have died

And to the proud families of all our heroes
Whose sons for us their lives lay down
The gratitude and love of all the people
From a grateful nation and the Crown
